"...in a time lacking in truth and uncertainty and filled with anquish and despair, no woman should be shamefaced in attemping to give back to the world, through her work, a portion of its lost heart." Louise Bogan, American Poet 1897-1970

It's the Little Things

I'm really not into making large quilts right now.

I'm into making little things. Table runners is as large as I want to go right now, but I'm loving making very little things.

Like tiny pillows. I want a bowl or basket full of them!

The pillow/pincushion on the top left is a souvenir I picked up while on vacation earlier this year. It was the first thing that was put in my pottery bowl to hold my new tiny pillow collection. I finished the Zinnia cross stitch pillow right before going on vacation and it went in next. I need to finish the other three soon and that will fill up my my bowl to overflowing, so I'm on the lookout for something new to hold them all, plus all the ones on my list I want to make. The redwork cross stitch is a pillow I'm making for hubby. It has our wedding date stitched on it. The two blue and white English Paper Pieced squares I just found again yesterday. I had made them years ago and found them out in our shop in a tub I forgot I put out there with several other tubs when I stopped quilting a few year ago. It was like Christmas when I found and opened them. I had forgotten some of the fabric and I'm so excited to begin working with them. My favorite is batiks and I have some yummy pieces I can't wait to sew up! I even found a Rainforest quilt I have almost all cut out. How could I have forgotten that?!! Well, let's not go there. lol

Here is another red, white and blue table runner I made for my aunt's 75th birthday in July.

That's all I have to share for today.

Happy Quilting and making little things!
