"...in a time lacking in truth and uncertainty and filled with anquish and despair, no woman should be shamefaced in attemping to give back to the world, through her work, a portion of its lost heart." Louise Bogan, American Poet 1897-1970

Off the Grid

"Off the Grid" is designed by John Adams (Quilt Dad) for Moda Bake Shop. It is a sliced 9 patch pattern and it is my next quilt. You can click on the link above and you will be taken to the pattern and the quilt he made.  I will be using a solid (either the light or dark pink) for the inserted slices to make it look like the plaid. Really cool pattern. I can't wait to get started!
Yesterday I was able to go out of town and buy some fabric for the borders of "Sidelines."  I will be finishing the top in the next few days and can't wait to show you how looks! I think it will be pretty snazzy.
The past several days I have been practicing free motion quilting with the help of Leah Day over at
Day Style Designs. (See her link under My Blog List.) She has come up with over 365 free motion filler patterns and has a video tutorial for each one! Quite a talented lady! If you get tired of doing the stippling stitch, that is the blog to visit.  She talks about a lot of other quilt topics and makes fabulous art quilts to swoon over.
Well, if I keep jabbering here I won't get any sewing done will I?
Wishing you blessings on your day and peace in your heart.  Deborah

  1. I'm very sorry about the small print. I don't usually have to check that. Maybe because it's a new month? Who knows.
