"...in a time lacking in truth and uncertainty and filled with anquish and despair, no woman should be shamefaced in attemping to give back to the world, through her work, a portion of its lost heart." Louise Bogan, American Poet 1897-1970

Yai Yai's Mock Shepherd Pie

     5-6 potatoes
     1 lb. lean hamburger
     1 c. green beans
     1 cup corn
     1/2 - 1 cup sliced mushrooms
     2 pkgs. mushroom gravy
     1 tsp. oregano
     1 tsp. garlic powder
     1 Tbsp. minced dried onions
     Sea salt & pepper

Peel and dice potatoes. Boil in salted water for 10 minutes or until done. Brown ground beef while potatoes are cooking. Add sea salt, pepper, oregano and garlic powder. When beef is no longer pink, drain and add veggies. If you use fresh, you will need to pre-cook the veggies or if frozen thaw them. I used canned. Add gravy mix and 2 cups of water. Simmer while you drain and mash the potatoes.
Pour beef mixture into a cassarole dish.

Top with mashed potatoes. Don't spread them smooth so the peaks will brown.

Bake at 350* for 30 minutes.
Well, even quilters have to eat. :o)
I have enough leftover for tonight so I can quilt even longer today! Yay ME!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have lunch together today?
     Blessings on your day, Deborah
